Dr. Burgess is a graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.  She completed her residency in Primary Eye Care at The Eye Institute of Philadelphia.  After completing her residency, Dr. Burgess worked in both private practice as well as a multi-discipline group practice before opening Valley Forge Eye Care in 2011. She also spent two years as a clinical study doctor with the National Eye Institute’s Vision in Preschoolers study, providing vision and eye health screenings to children in Philadelphia’s public schools.

 

Dr. Burgess’ passion for community service began in graduate school when she traveled with the Student Optometric Service to Humanity organization to Guatemala.  She and her colleagues provided vision and eye health screenings and dispensed donated eyewear to hundreds of local residents. Dr. Burgess continues to serve the Phoenixville community through her volunteer work with The Clinic and The Phoenixville Community Education Foundation.
